The Baltimore Healer Lecture is a NCCAOM (National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine) approved lecture about Traditional Chinese medicine.  It consists of 15 PDA points.  It is useful for acupuncture license renewal.

It is particularly useful for licensed acupuncturists to learn new technique, to obtain updated knowledge, and to learn creative ways for acupuncture.

2. New concepts and new methods for acupuncturist

The lecture consists of 5 sections:

1). Section I      Diabetes Mellitus and Acupuncture

Understanding Diabetes Mellitus in both Western medicine and Traditional Chinese medicine, treat Diabetes by a creative method

2). Section II      Acupoint – Magnet Therapy for Food Craving, Insomnia, Nausea, Glaucoma, Palpitation and Bell’s Palsy

It is a unique method to solve some common illnesses. It generates amazing therapeutic result.

3). Section III    A Simple Way to Treat Panic Disorder

Understanding anxiety and panic attacks in both Western and Chinese medicine, using a simple way to treat it and providing an excellent effect for patients

4). Section IV     Finding Ear Helix Red Spots and Blood Vessels (HRSV) and the Discussion of Their Clinical Significance

A special auricular therapy – find red spots in ear Helix and special bleeding technique,

solve some difficult cases and obtain immediate result  

5). Section V        Discussion of Wei Qi - Nei Wei Qi Represents Immune System in Traditional Chinese Medicine

3. About the lecture provider

The NCCAOM approved lecture provider, Dr.Yu Chen, is a medical doctor in China, and an acupuncturist in the State of Maryland in the U.S.A. She created several simple and effective methods to treat common health conditions which acupuncturists encounter everyday. The methods are simple and easy to learn, but the background of the methods is profoundly supported by both Western medicine and Traditional Chinese medicine.  The theory of giving a term for immune system in TCM was appreciated by the chief editor of the Chinese Journal of Basic Medicine in Traditional Chinese Medicine and published 2 months after the submission.  In 1997, a local newspaper, The Baltimore Sun, published an illustrated article about her work, titled “Pointing the Way- with breakthrough acupuncture methods and on-demand herbal remedies, Dr. Yu Chen of Pikesville shows that old ways mix well with modern medicine”. She is invited by American Diabetes Association for Exhibit every year.  She is listed in “Who’s Who of American” and “Who’s Who in the World” since 2001. In 2008, she published a book “The Voice of Medicine-An Integration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine”.
